Cri*te*ri*um (krI'-tir-E-&m), noun [Latin]:
A bicycle street race. Competitors must complete
the most laps in a set period of time. Very fast. Very exciting. |
The fastest and top ranked teams from across the nation are coming to compete for the area's largest purse in the Portland Twilight Criterium, presented by Subaru. Watch as they race on Portland city streets in the heart of Downtown Portland.
The course surrounds the North Park Blocks of downtown Portland, creating an island oasis of 360-degree viewing, music, food and beverage. There are several places where you can get close enough to feel the wind from the peloton. Each lap is one-half mile long which takes the racers just over one minute to complete. The course is highly technical so fields are limited to eighty riders.
The event is free to attend and great for families. Come downtown Friday evening, to experience the excitement yourself.

This event is a fundraiser for Camp Bike Fun, a summer camp for kids. Camp Bike Fun gives children an opportunity to explore Portland by bike while learning safe street riding, and a broad spectrum of skills that focus on art, environmentalism, community involvement, science, creative exploration and more. Camp Bike Fun is a fee-based camp and donations help fund their scholarship program for children from low-income families.
